Trouble with this one is it really does seem legit. The websites are pretty good and the organization and Pastor will take your calls. To be fair, I don;t really think he is a Pastor, just pretending to be one. The email, you will receive is as follows:

Just delete it. If you do call they will ask for your credit card number to secure a UK visa (which if you are Canadian you don’t need for this type of work) and travel arrangements. They will send you a contract if you ask for one. It is signed, but its not on any letter head. At least 10 speakers I know in Canada have all received this and we have done a bunch of research and work sussing it out…so you don’t have to. Best to trust me, delete it an move on.
Time to put my energy to good use now….(but sad I don’t get to go to the UK)

Hey Fellow preachers, If you get scammed here you deserve to be! Are you so vain, foolish, disconnected from reality to think that you are such an amazing preacher that a church half way round the world is going to sponsor you to preach in the UK! Get real guys. Preach to your own people with the same excitement you feel about going to London and you won’t have time to bother with some Nigerian Scammer. Paul says it this way: “For by the grace given me I say to every one of you: Do not think of yourself more highly than you ought, but rather think of yourself with sober judgment, in accordance with the measure of faith God has given you.” Romans 12:3

I’m not sure why your comment had to be so mean spirited. The majority of people who received this scam email were not preachers but professional speakers and trainers who receive email solicitations every day for their services. Responding in earnest has nothing to do with vanity, it’s how we make a living! Telling people that they deserved to be scammed by assuming the inquiry was genuine is about as un-Christian as you can be. I think it’s ironic and sad that you quote the bible while at the same time making such false assumptions.
Speakers responding to emails inquires about their speaking services is not vain. It’s good selling practice. Would you also say that a hotel responding to an email inquiry about room night availability is vanity on the hotel proprietors case?
