Leave Your Self-Doubt at the Marina

Well, nothing like a row of 100 foot yachts to make you feel like you’ve accomplished nothing :-).

Our trip to Monaco was fantastic. We were meeting with our business coach Alan Weiss and a group of fellow business owners. We spent three very productive days tackling our business challenges and sharing best practices.

If you don’t do it, this type of forum is a must. It is far too easy to get stuck in the day-to-day of running your sales business. Taking a step back and hearing another perspective is often what it takes to make the changes that will truly make a difference in your results.

Another key thing is to surround yourself with great team members. Nothing can bring down a leader faster than a team with poor performance and bad attitudes. And it starts with recruiting the right people.

But back to the yachts – I have to say the display of wealth was over-the-top. Russian oligarchs and Saudi princes abounded. You can see a few examples on my posting to Facebook last week. And just as I was getting a bit discouraged, Chris reminded me that what’s important is not what others have achieved, it is doing what you love and reaching your own goals for happiness.
