With Due Respect to Alec Baldwin | Sales Tips

Always be prospecting. Why do I say that? I can tell you that in 25 years of selling, I have never met a sales problem that can’t be solved without good prospecting skills.

If you have a steady pipeline full of the best quality leads, you will always be able to sell to somebody else if you’ve got a bad prospect in there. If you don’t have anyone else in your pipeline, you’ll do anything you can to save your bad deals. If you’ve got a full pipeline, you’ll just let them go gracefully.

The key to good prospecting is consistency and targeting. You have to prospect every day. If you only prospect weekly, you’ll never really get into a good groove and prospect well. Get into the habit of doing something every single day to put leads into your pipeline. If you make that commitment to yourself, you will always have a full pipeline.

You also need to target the right people. We don’t want just anyone in our pipeline, we want only the best leads. Take some time to identify who your best prospects are. What is the demographic profile of your best buyers? If you do these things every single day, you will always have a full pipeline and you will always exceed your goals.
