You Need to Ask This
Growing your sales starts with one simple shift: asking for the sale. Sounds easy, right? Yet most sellers avoid the conversation altogether. Here's a quick tip on turning soft closes into solid commitments.

Are you asking for the sale? Really? It's a serious question. Are you asking for the sale?
Because most salespeople I work with don't clearly ask for the business. They skirt around the conversation and leave the meeting open, waiting for the customer to tell them when they're going to get back to them. You need to clearly and comfortably ask for the business if you want to close the business. Simple.
Can we get this written up for you? Are you good to go? Are you ready to get started? Can we start working together? Whatever is the most comfortable expression for you? You need to ask.
Even a simple what would you like to do next? Is a better question than just saying great. When you're ready to move forward, call me. The vast majority of customers that I work with have salespeople who don't ask for the business, and that's the number one reason why they're not growing their territories.
So let's be honest. If you're not sure, then the best thing you can do is to take your manager or colleague out with you or on the phone, if you sell on the phone, and listen to you and ask them specifically to listen. Are you asking for the business? And if you're not, ask yourself why. And come up with a comfortable question and make this the year that you commit to making that change. I guarantee you it will grow your business faster than you've ever grown it before.
