The Trait All Sellers Need | Sales Tips

I’ve been giving a lot of thought to what makes a successful salesperson and I realize that one of the key components of all the top performers that I talk to is resilience. They are absolutely committed to keep going even in the face of adversity.

So resilience, always taking the next step forward, always asking another question, always following up even when the customer or the prospect says no. Resilience is a key to success.

How do we develop resilience? Well, one of the things I’ve also noticed about very successful salespeople is they have an unending curiosity, so they are always eager to ask another question which helps keep moving the sale along or the relationship along.

They also have a very healthy mindset. You can't be resilient if you don’t feel good about yourself or if you don’t have a strong self-esteem. And also, more importantly, you can't have a healthy resilience if you’re not physically capable of keeping up. You have to be healthy.

Strong resilient people get great sleep. They eat well. They also are in good shape. They physically can carry and push themselves through adversity.

So how resilient are you? When you face objection, do you push through it or do you retreat?

This one trait is going to determine whether you create a nonstop sales boom or you just create a bust!
