My Top Five Travel Tips | Sales Tips

People ask me all the time what my tips are for travel because I travel all the time. So I thought I’d give you five of my best travel tips to always make sure that you arrive on time for your client meetings feeling refreshed and of course ready to sell.

Number one; never take the last flight into anywhere. Always make sure that on your preferred supplier, you’ve got another flight in that night. That way, if anything happens, and it inevitably will, you’ve always got a backup.

Speaking of backups, my second tip is know what those backups are in advance. I’ll often take a screenshot of the flight that I know I can’t catch if the weather gets bad or if I get delayed. That way when I call to rearrange my flight, I know exactly what to ask for and I know what I want in advance. You’re less likely to be at the whim of the airlines when you have more control over the situation.

Number three may sound funny, but if you’re sitting in economy, always sit in row 13 in the aisle. Why? Because there are a lot of fliers who won't sit in row 13, so you’re almost always guaranteed at least one, if not two empty seats beside you.

Number four sounds like a no-brainer, but carry on your luggage. I can't tell you the number of times that I was saved being able to get on an alternate flight because I didn’t check luggage.

Number five; always book a car service. Cabs can be notoriously unreliable, especially if the weather is bad. I have nothing against taxis but I know that there are some airports, especially in the winter that if a storm hits, you could be waiting for hours for taxis. Not to mention that they may show up late or their credit card readers might not be working. So always book a car service and you get there relaxed, on time and safely.

Those are my top five travel tips for making sure that you get to your destination on time, relaxed and ready to sell.
